You do not need a long interview. You need ten answers. Copy these into your first message and you will learn more in five minutes than in three trial sessions.
The checklist
- Which certification do you hold, and is it currently valid?
- How many clients with my goal are you training right now?
- Where do sessions take place, and is facility access included?
- How long is a session, door to door?
- Which slots do you actually have free in the next four weeks?
- What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
- Do packages expire, and what happens to unused sessions?
- How do you track progress, and how often do we review it?
- Do you provide nutrition guidance, and are you qualified to?
- What does a typical first month with you look like?
What good answers sound like
Specific, unhesitant and written down. A trainer who can send you their cancellation policy as text has one. A trainer who answers 'we'll see how it goes' on progress tracking will not be measuring anything in week eight either.
One red flag worth naming
Pressure to buy a large package before a single session. A short starter block is normal; a twelve-month commitment before you have trained together once is not.
